From April 27th–May 10th, 2026, I attended the Ernest ‘Che’ Guevara Volunteer Work Brigade to Cuba. Organized by the Canadian Network on Cuba, the 32nd Che Brigade consisted of dozens of comrades from Turtle Island who brought essential aid to Cuba in the spirit of international solidarity. During these two weeks we learned from Cuba doctors, government workers, engineers, teachers, students, academics, workers, and labour organizers. The Che Brigade joined over 700 other comrades from around the globe who travelled to Cuba with the May Day Brigade and other regional contingents. These images provide a small glimpse at the beauty, joy, and resilience we witnessed.
